Service Desk Technician

Casne Engineering is seeking a Service Desk Technician to work with us in supporting our growing Engineering and Technology Services company. The successful candidate will be a proactive, self-directed team player with immediate availability and 1-2 years’ progressive experience in supporting enterprise software and server environments. He or she must be comfortable working directly with end users, exhibit a professional and positive demeanor, and have a genuine interest in helping others succeed with technology.

The primary role will be supporting enterprise customers’ real-time operations in a Tier 1 capacity. The ideal candidate will have SMB or Enterprise IT support with experience in critical systems and familiarity with demanding uptime requirements.

Required (Technical)

  • Associate degree technology certification in related field, or equivalent education and experience/Certification preferred.
  • Experience in Windows Desktop and Server support, including new server configuration and installation, hardware and OS troubleshooting, and line of business software support
  • Experience configuring, managing, and supporting Active Directory, HyperV and VMware vSphere
  • Experience with network services including AD, DHCP, WSUS, DFS, DNS, RDP, SMTP, SSH
  • Strong documentation skills to fully capture processes followed when troubleshooting and/or installing / commissioning new equipment
  • Experience beyond routine break-fix support (i.e., experience with root-cause analysis and preventative maintenance practices)

  • Able to work independently and take complete ownership of tasks from start to finish
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities and proven ability to execute in high-pressure situations
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical information to technical and non-technical users, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to participate in evening, overnight and/or weekend “on-call” shifts / rotations
  • Consistent and dependable work attendance record
  • Reliable transportation and driver’s license
  • US Citizenship
  • Current residency within 30 miles of Spokane, WA

Also Desirable

  • MCSE / MCSA, CISSP, CCNA, Security +
  • Knowledge of Data Historians or HMI’s (OSIsoft PI System, Ignition, RSView)
  • ITIL knowledge/certification
  • Unix / Linux and LAMP stack experience
  • Scripting experience with Windows Shell Script, VBScript, BASH, etc.
  • Software development experience (C#, .NET, HTML, CSS, JSON, JavaScript, WebGL)
  • Experience in commercial/enterprise data center and co-location environments
