Electrical, Controls, and Software Design and Implementation for Wastewater Treatment Plant
Casne Engineering provided the control system design for a wastewater treatment plant at BNSF’s Vancouver Yard. Wastewater collected from the yard’s diesel shop, locomotive washbay, and stormwater is pumped from the headworks lift station through an oil water separator, then stored and processed through a DAF unit. This system is designed to handle water with varying concentrations of grit slurry, diesel fuel oil, and locomotive wash down soaps. This plant is fully automated, processes millions of gallons of water every year, and requires only part time operator presence.
